I make quality custom Bowstrings using BCY products using 8125 and Halo serving as I find it gives a better release for finger shooters
Breaking strengths is rarely, if ever, the cause of a string failure on a Recurve\Longbow. More likely causes are –
· over twisting
· extremely tight serving/compressive failure
· lack of string care and maintenance (lubrication)
· abrasion
I recommend 16-18 strands of 8125 on a Longbow and B50 for Bows not rated for Fastflight i.e. no tip reinforcing
